Techleap is building a vibrant Dutch deeptech ecosystem by organizing impactful events that foster connection, collaboration, learning, and visibility. As an Event Manager, you will take full ownership of planning, executing, and optimizing these events. This role gives you broad responsibility and creative freedom, where your strategic thinking, organizational talent, and community focus drive ecosystem engagement and growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this position, you take full ownership of the entire event portfolio within the deeptech and Spin-off Excellence team. You’ll be responsible for shaping and executing a wide range of events from large-scale flagship events like the State of Dutch Tech to more intimate events, round tables, community sessions and organizing event for international trips. You translate strategic goals into clear event concepts, defining objectives, KPIs, timelines, and budgets, while ensuring alignment with internal teams and key ecosystem partners.

You’ll be in charge of all operational aspects: identifying and securing suitable venues, managing catering and AV needs, overseeing registration processes, and ensuring a seamless on-site experience. Close collaboration with the Communications team ensures that every event is supported by strong messaging and effective promotion.

Building and maintaining strong relationships is a central part of your work. You’ll engage with speakers, partners, vendors, and community members, ensuring that each event reflects Techleap’s ambition and delivers real value. After each event, you actively gather feedback and analyze data to evaluate success, identify areas for improvement, and propose new ideas.

While operational excellence is key, you’ll also have space to innovate—experimenting with new formats, engagement strategies, and concepts that elevate the visibility and inclusivity of the deeptech ecosystem. You’ll regularly update leadership on progress, outcomes, and potential risks, demonstrating the strategic impact of the events you deliver.

Who you are

With over five years of experience in event management, you know how to bring high-profile, industry-focused, and multi-stakeholder gatherings to life. You’re able to manage the full event lifecycle independently, from the first creative concept all the way to seamless on-site execution. Your strong project management skills allow you to balance multiple priorities, budgets, and timelines without losing control. Under tight deadlines, you demonstrate sound judgment, make confident decisions, and solve problems with ease. You communicate clearly and build strong relationships with internal teams, partners, and a wide range of stakeholders. You’re fluent in English, and if you speak Dutch as well, that’s an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Dutch (deep) tech ecosystem or research-intensive industries.

  • Experience working with investors, knowledge institutions, and the government.

  • Expertise in data-driven event optimization and audience engagement strategies.

  • Experience working with high-profile speakers or C-suite stakeholders.

  • Experience ensuring speakers and participants are well-briefed about the audience and expectations.

  • Familiarity with innovative or experimental event formats.

Your success in 6 Months

  • Independently deliver 3–5 impactful Deep tech and spin off excellence events or sessions.

  • Create and implement a comprehensive annual event plan aligned with team goals—including audience targets, impact goals, budgets, and innovation initiatives.

  • Build and strengthen relationships with founders, investors, researchers, and ecosystem partners.

  • Launch at least one innovative event format that significantly boosts engagement or visibility.

  • Identify operational improvements across logistics, budgeting, and attendee experience based on data and feedback.

What we offer

  • A salary between €5,400 - €6,100 per month (full-time)

  • 8% holiday allowance

  • 15% pension allowance for you to allocate

  • Unlimited holidays

  • Hybrid working setup (max. 2 days WFH),

  • A full-time contract (32–40 hours per week).
