We are looking for an intern that can help us for 6 months with finding relevant data about Deeptech startups, trends in the ecosystem and enhance our centralized database.

About the job

As a startup scout & data, you play a center role in our mission to understand the Deeptech startup ecosystem. You will also support us in getting organized in the way we store and update information within Techleap. As a non-profit in the space, we aim to transform the Dutch Tech ecosystem by breaking barriers by addressing talent shortages, capital limitations, and fostering a dynamic connection between tech ventures and the investment community. By 2026, we envision the Netherlands not just as a startup hub, but as THE Global Tech Powerhouse in Europe, crafting tech ventures into unstoppable global leaders. Your role

This internship is not your standard one and will bring a great mix of contributions to different projects we work on (even one that is in ‘stealth mode’). You will scout new startups, improve our data collection and quality and will enable us to strategize, innovate and we really ask you to think along with the Deeptech team.

  • In the scouting department you will scavenge online and through various databasesscout the best Deeptech startups in the Netherlands for our prestigious programs (Pole Position and the Academic Startup Competition);

  • We already have quite some information/ data, we just need someone to help us put the dots together! For you this means that you will help us getting a better view of the Dutch startup ecosystem by focusing on enrichment and quality control;

  • You will also be analyzing the data we already have available and evaluating with the team what needs to stay, what needs to go and what needs a refresh;

  • You will then be adding the found information to our database that we will use for different purposes to enhance the status of Dutch tech;

  • All your work will then be used to develop together a better understanding on the startup ecosystem, thereby supporting evidence-based policymaking and strategic planning initiatives within the Dutch tech ecosystem.

All in all you will be wearing many hats, and will join incredibly innovative projects in the field of startup data.

About you

No experience is required for the role! We are looking for someone that: 

  • Is passionate about startups and new technologies;

  • Is detail-oriented, fast and with a self-starter attitude; 

  • Ideally you know your way around Airtable / HubSpot (CRM) or other tools that are similar;

  • Preferably brings basic Web Scraping & Data Entry skills (such as Vlookup);

  • Sociable and communicative personality because you will speak with our stakeholders in the field;

  • Speaks both Dutch & English.

Compensation and availability

For this position we offer a gross monthly internship compensation  of €500,-. We look for someone that can start as soon as possible and is:

  • Full-time available for at least 6 months (of course you can take some holidays);

  • Able to work 2-3 days a week at the Amsterdam office (Marineterrein) in alignment with team availability and office participation.
